Privacy policy

What data Vitualha collects, how the measurement and advertising on this site work, and what your rights are under Brazil's General Data Protection Law.

This policy explains how personal data is handled at Vitualha, in accordance with Brazilian Law 13.709/2018 (LGPD).

Three-sentence summary

We do not sell your data and we do not build reader accounts. The site is funded by Google AdSense advertising, which uses cookies to serve ads — and you can turn personalization off at any time. We use Google Analytics to see which subjects get read, always as aggregate numbers. Beyond that, we collect only the minimum the site needs to work.

Data we collect directly

Browsing. The hosting server records technical access data (IP address, date, time, page requested, browser). These logs exist for security and diagnostics and are kept for a limited period.

Newsletter. If you subscribe, the email address you provide is used for the sole purpose of sending content. You can unsubscribe at any time through the link in every message.

Contact. Messages sent by email contain whatever data you choose to include, used only to reply.

Theme preference. Your choice between light and dark mode lives in your browser’s local storage. It is never sent to any server and disappears when you clear browser data.

Audience measurement

This site uses Google Analytics 4 to understand which subjects people look for and which articles get read to the end. That is what guides the choice of what to publish next.

What this means in practice. The service uses its own cookies (_ga) to tell a new visit from a returning one, and records data such as pages viewed, time spent reading, referral source, device type and approximate region. We only ever see aggregate numbers — never an identified person, and never what you type.

What we do not do with it. We do not combine this data with any other information, we do not use it for personalized advertising, and we do not share it. No measurement data is sold.

Your control. You can:

  • Install the Google Analytics opt-out add-on in your browser
  • Block cookies in your browser settings, or use a private window
  • Turn on “Do Not Track” or use a blocker — the site keeps working in full

None of this depends on accepting measurement: blocking it does not limit access to any content.

Advertising

This site displays Google AdSense ads. Every ad block is labeled “Advertisement” — you can always tell content from advertising.

How it works. Google and its partners use cookies and similar identifiers to serve ads and measure performance. Those cookies may take into account your visits to this and other sites in order to show more relevant ads. Google processes that data as its own controller — we have no individual access to it, we never receive it, and we cannot combine it with any other information.

Your control. You can:

  • Turn off ad personalization at Google Ad Settings
  • Review your consent choice through the panel shown on this site
  • Block third-party cookies in your browser settings
  • Use the aggregated opt-outs at aboutads.info/choices

Blocking advertising cookies does not restrict access to any content here.

Legal basis. Processing for personalized advertising relies on your consent, collected through the panel shown on your first visit. Without consent, ads still appear, but non-personalized.

What we do not do

  • We do not sell, rent or share personal data with third parties for commercial purposes
  • We do not build our own reader profiles or require accounts
  • We do not use advertising data for any purpose of our own
  • We do not publish paid content disguised as journalism (see editorial policy)
